Wicked is the most thrillifying musical I have ever laid ears or eyes on, it is truly spectacular! The score by Stephen Schwartz is so captivating, whilst the costumes, set and lighting are so amazifyingly oz-some that the whole musical experience will just blow you away. And of course there are the wonderfully talented cast of the show that bring the magic on stage 8 times a week. Australia really does have exceptional talent! Lucy Durack is just fabulous as Glinda, she has such a beautiful voice and portrays the pink-loving witch so perfectly. Jemma Rix and Pippa Grandison who currently share the role of Elphaba are both very talented as they bring their own flavour to the character of the green-skinned witch. And the rest of the cast are also wonderful to watch on stage, the ensemble numbers are just amazing!
This show will change the way you look at the Wicked Witch of the West for good... Who knew there was so much more to the story of the Witches of Oz that we were never told? Never have I liked the Wicked Witch of the West so much, and never have I been so obsessed with GREEN!
As someone who has seen the show now 9 times (with a tenth ticket booked!), I can say that every time I go back to see it I get goosebumps from the first few notes of the opening number. I never thought I would see a show so many times, let alone get the same feelings of excitement, laughter and sadness each time I go, and never get bored of it.
Every time you go back to see the show you discover something new, and seeing the show once is just not enough! However, if you could only see one musical in your life time, without a doubt that musical would have to be WICKED :)

Wicked was truly an awesome, or should I say, oz-some experience. From the age of 5- to 105, every single audience member will be enthralled by the captivating brilliance of music theatre genius that is Wicked! It had me in tears from sadness and empathy to happiness to sheer excitement. It is the type of performance that makes you stop and think, we don't give these people enough credit for the amazing talent they have. A truly 'Wicked' experience for all.

Whether you're a musical fan or not, you will never forget your Wicked experience. From the intricate stitching of the costumes to the larger than life sets, from the principal stars to each ensemble member, from the clever... story to the original, show-stopping songs - every detail of the show works together to create a magical experience.
The cast are all simply amazing. Jemma Rix and Pippa Grandison are both beyond fantastic as Elphaba, with awe-inspiring performances and vocals. Lucy Durack is perfect in every single way as Galinda. The rest of the cast are also flawless. They sing, dance and act fabulously on their own and as a group, and their enthusiasm is simply infectious; soon enough you'll be dancing along in your seat! You will truly feel connected with each and every character.
There will never be enough words and praise to describe how wonderful the show really is. See for yourself why fans worldwide keep coming back for more. It's such a unique, thrillifying experience that makes anyone who sees it feel, wicked.

I have seen Wicked in Sydney 8 times and all from the front row, I have been lucky enough to see the Original Broadway cast and most recently the LA and London Cast. The Australian Production if not more superior but equal to the Original Cast as the energy is Electrifying. I have seen 4 different Actress perform the lead role of Elphaba and each one of them brought their own spin to this great Character, Amanda Harrison, Jemma Rix , Pippa Gradison and the Wonderful Jennifer De Nola hats off to you all as this is a very demanding role and each time I hear Defying Gravity I get the goose bumps when the green girls flys.
The Sydney company is so multi talented all the understudies are very equal to the main stars so it doesnt matter who is on when you see this show you always will get the company 110 percent.
As I have now seen the show 11 times I hope to see a few more whilst in Sydney as every time I see the show I see a different show.
I love this show and glad I have been part of the Sydney Season.

Currently playing at the Capitol Theatre in the wonderful city of Sydney is a Musical that is something a little bit different, it is Wicked! Based on Gregory Maguire’s novel Wicked: The life and times of the wicked witch of the west, the play introduces you to two lively and passionate characters called Elphaba (The Wicked Witch of the West) and Galinda later known as Glinda (The Good). This amazing tale takes your through what really happened before Dorothy dropped by, through the lives of the two girls it creates themes such as friendship, rivalry, racism, love, hate and much more. Wicked is artistically amazing with its mouth dropping scenic designs, beautiful and unique costumes and astonishing lighting, it creates a world like nothing you could ever imagine in your wildest dreams.
Elphaba played by Amanda Harrison is Wicked’s strongest character; she beholds traits such as passion, love, intelligence and independence. Although her skin is the colour green she continues in standing by her morals and what she believes in, a true role model for the young persons of today’s society, especially women.
Glinda played by Lucy Durack is Wicked’s most loved character, though at the start she is portrayed as a mean and stereotypical popular beauty, she grows the most throughout the play and reveals her true inner self, which turns out to be more loving and beautiful then her outer core could ever be.
The beauty about Wicked is that it takes every single person on their own little journey of self discovery; everybody leaves with a different lesson learned and a stronger ambition to be something greater. Not only this but Wicked is also very smartly done, from things such as how they change the scenes to how it was written, it really go’s in depth in the world of OZ, revealing its more corrupted side and truly making you think twice about what you think you know.

Wicked was an experience that was unforgettable and unimaginable. Everything in the show is so detailed and thorough. It is definitely something that I will remember for a lifetime.
Firstly, I would like to praise the Ensemble for their AMAZING work. Their singing, their acting and their dance moves were so precise and exact. They followed the original ensemble really well - making it a more exciting show. I had Pippa Grandison and Lucy Durack as Elphaba and Glinda. Lucy Durack, as always, played the role of Glinda with much enthusiasm - singing and prancing her away in "Popular" and singing with emotion in "For Good". I didn't expect much from Pippa, because she was new to the show - but I was quite impressed by her singing and her role as Elphaba. I must admit I had read a couple poor reviews of her, but judging from the reviews, I believe she is has adjusted to the role of Elphaba. She portrayed the character very well and her singing was of high standard. She cracked on a couple low notes but her "Defying Gravity" must have been her main highlight in the show. I didn't expect it to be, but I was proved wrong as she hit all the high and loud notes in the song. I also had Michael Snell as Fiyero - and I thought he did a wonderful job in that character; especially in his solo, "As Long as Your Mine."
The costuming and sets in the show were beautiful. Everything was just so full and complete. Every single detail on the costumes and lighting were so correct and accurate - it was impossible to take in everything all at the same time!
Overall, the whole show was a success - bringing lessons and a strong theme to the whole plot. The musical has inspired many into musical theatre and is definitely a musical that I would recommend to anyone.

Before Wicked I wasn't exactly a musical fan. But when I heard the soundtrack I was absolutely blown away. After hearing about it from a friend who saw it in New York (lucky guy) I saw Amanda perform on Sunrise and it was at that moment I decided I had to see the show! It wasn't easy convincing my mum to fly to Sydney (from Perth) with me for the weekend, but as soon as she saw she show she understood what all the fuss was about! It was great because I went in there knowing everything about it, and she went in knowing it was, quote "Something about witches". So everything was a suprise for her. Wicked has everything- humour, friendship, love, as well as sadness and betrayal. It makes you laugh and cry. Best. Show. Ever.

I went into the Capitol Theater on the 6th of December '09 with absolutely no expectations for my first taste of musical theatre. Fastforward 2 months later and thanks to Wicked, I love musical theatre! Wicked really is a magical musical, the set absolutely gobsmacking and transporting you to another place just as you take your seats. The costumes add to the wonderful splendor, but the real accolades must go to the actors, the lighting crew, the musical orchestra and of course, Stephen Schwartz, the person who was responsible for the music.
The lighting was amazing, especially in the Defying Gravity scene, where everyone in the theater is on the edge of their seat in awe as they watch Elphaba rise into the sky. Absolutely flawless. The orchestra did not put a note wrong and the technical crew had the right dynamics to go with each scene which really added to the whole experience.
The story is one that will touch the heart of all that experience it, turning everything we thought we knew, on it's head. It's a real moral story with core values of true friendship and standing up for what you believe in. Can you believe that in addition, it's got many moments of comedic relief, and to contrast, drama? The musical has everything that one could possibly want for a good experience of theater. The cast that I've seen, which included all principal members and Jemma Rix were amazing. Lucy Durack was hilarious playing the bubbly blonde Galinda and really does show a transformation in the 2nd act as Glinda. Jemma Rix was outstanding singing and acting, and I really believed she was Elphaba. She's got an amazing voice, and all who see her will be stunned. Rob Mills was delightfully charming as Fiyero and sang very well too. Not a bad dancer, either! Penny McNamee, James Smith, Rodney Dobson and Bert Newton all played their characters well, their acting and singing on key.
See it while you can! You won't regret a cent of the money spent. I can't wait to see it again!

Wicked is in a league of it's own. With original, catchy songs, gorgeous costumes and a set that complements the story perfectly it is a musical you shouldn't miss.
Throw in some comedy, drama and romance and you've got a well-rounded show with excellent leads and supporting cast.
It's definitely one for the whole family! Go see it before the season ends!

WICKED is the most amazing musical that I have ever seen. Who would have thought that the Wicked Witch of the West could be so likeable?
The entire cast are truly amazing and you really feel as though you have been transported to the land of Oz. Lucy Durack and Jemma Rix are fantastic in their roles as Glinda and Elphaba allowing you to follow their relationship from loathing each other to the very best of friends.
I have seen WICKED several times and have never been disappointed it is truly a magical night out, I can't wait to go again!

Wicked is the most amazing stage show I have ever seen. From beginging to end the show is inspiring and brilliant, from the mind blowing costumes and sets, to the dazzling music.
Wicked is truly a story that will make you laugh and cry, and gives so much more meaning to the original "Wonderful Wizard of OZ"
I have seen Wicked 6 times between Melbourne and Sydney, and can't wait for number 7!
I have been changed....

I send this email to thank you with ALL your initial support and information you have provided to my school about WICKED.
Two hundred of my students and I had the PLEASURE of seeing it finally yesterday at the Capitol. Although it was my fourth time, the experience was mind-boggling for the students. I thought they would like it, but I did not anticipate such an enthusiastic and chilling response from them. To put it frankly, they went MENTAL with excitement (even the "cool" boys).
Thanks to you, I have put together a ten week WICKED programme for my school.
I can honestly say that WICKED changed two-hundred teenage lives yesterday.

I went to watch wicked last night with some friends and i really enjoyed it. Before i went, i read so many reviews about people raving on about how good it was and at first, i didn't expect it to be as good as they said. Already halfway through the performance during intermission, i couldn't wait for the second part to start again.Never having read the book, i was left in suspense and guessing what the ending would be like. The props, singing, acting and the production of the whole thing was spell bounding. I recommend everyone to watch it before it is out of theatres.I loved every moment of the performance. It had humor, drama, action, romance and excitement. Loved it!

Absolutely fantastic......best musical I've ever seen, even beats Phantom! We had great seats too which made it even more enjoyable. The leads were incredibly talented with amazing voices, particularly Jennifer Dinoia who has joined the company from Broadway to play Elphaba and our own Lucy Durack as Glinda...together they were electrifying and dynamic. The ensemble had some great dancers as well and of course Bert Newton and Maggie Kirkpatrick were wonderful too. They got a standing ovation of course. Not bad for a Tuesday nite! The musical director was a woman.... and amazing to watch; the setting and lighting effects were incredible ....it held us spell bound for the entire performance. Now I'm planning to take my granddaughter to see it as it will appeal to her as much as my generation! Merchandise marketing was great too so have a green glass to use at Christmas as well as some presents for people! Go and see Wicked you will not regret it!

I wanted to say how nice it was to be able to go in the draw for the lottery. I went to town today and was lucky enough to win 2 tickets to the show. Many thanks to whoever put this idea into motion. It gave me an opportunity to see a live stage show that I may not of been able to afford to see otherwise.
