Singer/Songwriter James D Smith has been writing and recording his own Original Albums since he was 16. His latest EP "Sunlight" was Recorded and Engineered by Producer Sean Carey (Lead Guitarist Thirsty Merc). James played the role of Boq in Wicked at the Capitol Theatre, Sydney, and was also part of the Original Australian cast of Wicked in Melbourne at the Regent Theatre. He has been a featured singer at Carols by Candlelight not only in his hometown of Albury but also at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne and the Carols in the Domain in Sydney.

James moved to Ballarat when he was 17 to study at The Arts Academy (BAPA) Graduating with a Bachelor Of Arts Degree in Musical Theatre Performance. James has trained and studied a variety of Voice genres including Opera, Rock, Pop, Country, Jazz/Blues, and Musical Theatre.He has performed at the Sydney Opera House and also performed an Original track at the 2010 Sydney Theatre Awards. Most recently James teamed up with Bec Caruana with platinum artists and is promoting his new Ep sunlight throughout 2011.

His Theatre Credits include: Into The Woods, Rent, Songs For A New World, 42nd Street, Kiss Me Kate, Merrily We Roll Along, Pageant- The Musical, and The Wild Blue. He also sailed the Bahamas' as the lead male singer on a Royal Caribbean Cruise ship back in 2007. James is looking forward to touring with Wicked and thanks his family and friends for their constant support.
